Anyone who knows me knows that I am shoe OBSESSED. Like, it’s a problem.
“Groceries… maybe. New shoes… definitely!”
Anyhow… I think splurging on shoes is totally justifiable, don’t you? However… There’s no feeling quite like finding a great “steal”.
I live in boots… summer, winter… doesn’t really matter. They are def my shoe of choice. That being said, it’s kind of fun to spice up everyday ‘uniform’ which typically consists of black on black with a touch of black.
I love anything ‘tomboy’… especially when it has a hint of girly-ness, so I’m obviously dying over these floral Dr. Martens. I’m all about mixing prints and patterns, so in my opinion they literally go with everything. The price point isn’t too shabby, and honestly a good pair of docs will last you for life. But… these little gems from Steve Madden are equally as cute and only half the price. So, the choice is yours. Spend on the “Real“, or save on the “Steal“?
The other night while doing what I do best cough cough… [ online shopping ] with my best babe… I noticed that all of the models were sporting purple lipstick. I asked, “Is purple the new black?” Her response, “Duh!”
I was instantly smitten with this shade. Yes, I know that Radiant Orchid is Pantone’s color of the year for 2014… but what I did not know was how freaking amaze it would look on the lips. It’s also insanely easy to pull off, you just have to find the right hue for you!
So naturally, I ran to the store and picked up a couple shades of purple lipstick when I realized I wanted to start rocking this trend like, yesterday. I’ve come up with a pretty epic purple lip concoction which consists of Benefit’s “Lolli Tint” as a base. This is hands down my favorite lip and cheek stain. Ever. I top it off with not one, but two shades of lipstick… Revlon’s “Berry Haute” #660 & “Violet Frenzy” #027… the result, the PERFECT purple lip, aka one of my FAVE trends for 2014.
Here are some of my other pics for the perfect purple lip ;)
It’s officially official… 2014 has arrived… and frankly, I’m pretty freaking stoked. I am beyond ready for a new year and a fresh start. 2013 was great, don’t get me wrong, but there is just something so invigorating about that feeling of starting new. My goals and aspirations for this year are bigger and better than ever, and I have a funny feeling that 2014 is going to be kind of magical.
I did NOT ring in the new year in my typical fashion ( meaning a tight dress, loud music, way too much champagne, and a wicked hangover come January 1st ). Nope. Instead I went on a fantastic run, worked, worked, worked, lounged around in my sweats, sipped on green juice ’til my little heart was content ( stay tuned for my fav recipe ), and watched the ball drop… East Coast time. I know what you are thinking. Slow down, Katie… that lifestyle will kill you.
Seriously though, it was kind of refreshing. 2014 is all about health, happiness, and productivity. ← Cheers to that! Don’t worry, I did enjoy some champs while watching Kathie Lee & Hoda’s “A Toast to 2013”. LOL. What are those two on… and how can I get some? I kid, I kid.
Soooo… spill! How did you ring in the new year? What’s your biggest wish for 2014? Thanks for making 2013 so amaze, and I promise LOTS of exciting things in the year to come ;)
