Bite Worthy

The-Fashion-Bite-Katie-Roof-Bite-Worthy-H&M,-Forever-21,-Urban-Outfitters,-Nars

Ugh… you guys. I have a major shopping addiction. Like. Major.

Everyday I repeat my mantra… “I will not shop today, I will not shop today, stay strong Katie”, but guess what… it hasn’t really been working.

Ya know what, rather than fight it I’d prefer to just share my favorite finds with you guys… sound good? Great!

I’ll leave it up to you to tell me ‘yes, you totally need another pair of black ankle boots to add to your insane collection’… or ‘no, get a grip and get your a$$ straight out that door and to the nearest Shopaholics Anonymous meeting STAT’… your call.

This week’s bite-worthy finds… clockwise:

Urban Outfitters Pins and Needles Lace-Inset Slip Romper $69.00: This lace slip dress is the perfect base layer for pretty much any and every outfit.

Nars Semi-Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Empress $26: I love, love, love a dark matte lip for fall and this color is amaze!

H&M Black Knit Cape $59.95: Who doesn’t love a classic cape? There’s just something so Coco about it. Timeless.

FXXI Standout Chain Necklace $8.80: One of the easiest way to step up your look is by adding a chunky, statement piece like this one.

FXXI Cozy Fair Isle Cardigan $32.80 : Ok. This cardigan is seriously too freaking cute. I love cozy cardis for fall. It will be in my closet by the end of the week.

H&M Quilted Shopper $34.95: I know I have like a million and one black bags, but I just love the pleated details on this one. It’s kind of the perfect laptop bag IMHO. & wouldn’t it go great with these shoes?!?

Urban Outfitters Grey City Bree Lace-Up Ankle Boots $189.00: Remember how I professed my love of shoes, especially black ankle boots? Well, here we go again. Chunky heel, lace-ups, & gold hardware on the toe… ugh. I die.

So… should I check myself into rehab now, or later?

Get The Look

The-Fashion-Bite-Katie-Roof-Get-The-Look-Flannel-Affair

I may like pretty things, but I’m a TOTAL tomboy at heart ( always have been, always will be… sry )!! That being said, I’m still completely obsessed with fashion ( obvi ) and love finding looks that allow me to mix and match my tomboy favs with some girlie touches.

THE-FASHION-BITE-Katie-Roof-Get-The-Look-add-a-pretty-braid

I love this look because A) it’s cute, B) it’s comfy, and C) it basically works for any and every occasion. Lunch with your bestie babes ✓, a night to forget at your fav dive bar ✓, Blog-Doo book club ✓, Sunday din with the fam ✓… you get the point.

My favorite leather jacket and vintage flannel are absolute staples ( I live in them ). This look can easily go downhill quick. Yep, down that hill and straight on to Frumpville USA, but pairing them with a skinny mini, a cute pair of ankle boots, and a girlie ‘do totally femmes it up. If you’re going to rock the tomboy look think Tomboy Chic… not twinning with your boyfriend. Thx.

→ Spring Forward →

DSC01411

It’s official… Spring is in the air! Well, maybe not “official” as the Spring Equinox doesn’t technically occur until March 20th, but as far as I’m concerned… Spring has sprung.

I couldn’t be more excited because every new season feels like a fresh start. Spring means longer days, hotter nights, & more importantly new fashion trends. I’m obsessed with anything and everything floral right now [which is very unlike me]. This little dime is one of my favs of the moment. Floral with a 90’s twist yes please! I had a dress just like this circa ’93… hey, what goes around comes around.

I’m also dying over these beige booties <– I forced myself to buy beige over black and I’m glad I did… I think they’re perfect for Spring!

UO WATERCOLOR HAIR MASK

My girl Fashionlushxx and I have a to “DYE” for product review over on our YouTube channel: KT+E Unplugged. We have been super into the Dip Dye // Colorful hair trend and feel that it will be making a total resurgence for Spring 2013 [[<– which I can’t wait for btdubs]].

Anyhooo, we have played around with various methods of achieving the Dip Dye look without putting our hair through hell. I was a fan of the Anastasia Hypercolor Hair Powder. It’s good for a one-nighter and washes out in one shampoo. A word to the wise… stick to wearing dark colors and watch your pillowcase when using this product. I mean, it is powder… so it tends to wander. Though the Anastasia powder did the job, we weren’t quite satisfied… that is until we discovered Watercolor!!

This may be my favorite product of the moment, and as a self proclaimed product junkie, that’s saying a lot! This stuff seriously made my hair look, feel, and smell like a million buck$. It’s a super hydrating hair mask that also adds a pop of color. It comes in purple, blue, yellow, red, & pink and you can pick it up at Urban Outfitters[<– select stores only], or order it off their website.

My hair is light brown… somewhere around a level 5 – 6. It showed up really well in my hair, especially toward the ends which are naturally lighter. I basically saturated my hair in this mask from roots to tips.  Erica’s hair is a bit darker… probably around a level 4. It still showed up nicely in her hair, but it was more of a “tint” effect. She applied the mask to the lower 1/3rd of her hair. We found that we got the best results by applying it to dry hair and letting it set for about 30 mins. Then just shower as usual and rinse it out [don’t shampoo… just rinse. You don’t want to dilute it too much.]

I applied the mask on Friday and have shampooed three times since. It’s still lookin’ good. The color gets more subtle with each shampoo, but this stuff has definitely got some staying power. I would use this product for the way it makes my hair feel alone. The ridiculously good smell and cute colors are a total added bonus. I will definitely be buying more in the very near future. Don’t forget to check out our viddy for a detailed review… and while you’re at it… SUBSCRIBE!!

What to Wear Wednesday…? Shadowplay.

20121121-195737.jpg

What am I wearing this Wednesday you ask…? Well, I was fortunate enough to get the day off of work [I’d say that’s something to be grateful for!!] That means my day consisted of some turkey day prep… running errands, picking up some last minute ingredients, getting the house ready for company, and what was that other thing…? Oh ya… cooking!!! On a day like today you’ve gotta be comfy & casual! I paired some black leggings with my favorite studded combat boots, my Joy Division tee, this amazing LuLu’s studded cross army jacket, and this infinity scarf. Don’t forget to glitz it up with a little bit a wrist full of arm candy… all by yours truly {Kikadoo}! There it is… Cute, comfy, and casual. The perfect outfit for the perfect fall day.
